Refund Policy
Effective date: TBD — set at v2 launch.
Thank you for using AngryBoss. This Refund Policy explains when refunds or credits are available for purchases of our subscription-based software-as-a-service and our one-time purchases (collectively, the "Service"). Capitalized terms have the meanings set out in our Terms of Service.
Summary (non-contractual)
- Subscriptions are billed in advance and auto-renew; cancel at any time to stop future renewals. We generally do not refund partial periods, except for billing errors or where required by law.
- One-time purchases such as the Tools Pack are non-refundable once delivered (you unlock and gain access immediately), except as required by law.
- We may grant goodwill refunds at our discretion.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to fees you pay directly to us for the Service. If you purchased through a third party, their refund rules may apply and you must contact them directly.
Payment processing is provided by one or more independent payment processors, currently WayForPay, WesternBid, and Hutko (which one applies depends on your billing currency and region). Refunds are routed through the same processor that handled the original transaction.
2. Cancellations and renewals (subscriptions)
Auto-renewal
All paid subscription plans renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled.
How to cancel
You can cancel at any time in Profile → Settings → Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you retain access until then.
No refunds for time remaining
Fees for the current billing period are non-refundable, including for partial months or unused features, except as stated in Sections 3 and 4 below.
3. Refunds we routinely allow
We will issue a refund or credit in the following situations:
- Duplicate charge for the same account and period.
- Accidental multi-subscription — for example, you created two paid accounts for the same team. We will refund the unintended one if you notify us promptly.
- Billing error caused by us — for example, you were charged the wrong amount due to a system mistake.
- Unauthorized transaction (subject to investigation) — if your payment method was used without permission.
Where appropriate, we may issue account credits instead of cash refunds (for example, for minor overcharges), at our reasonable discretion.
4. Legal cooling-off and mandatory rights
In some jurisdictions (e.g., EEA / UK consumer laws, Brazil LGPD-adjacent consumer rules, certain U.S. states), you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within a set period. Because our Service is delivered immediately after sign-up, by starting to use it you request immediate performance and may lose the statutory withdrawal right for the current period where permitted by law. Where a statutory right still applies, we will honor it as required.
5. Trials, upgrades, and downgrades
Trials
If your plan includes a free trial, you must cancel before the trial ends to avoid charges. Charges incurred after a trial are non-refundable.
Upgrades
Upgrades take effect immediately; we may prorate the price for the remaining term. Upgrade charges are non-refundable.
Downgrades
Downgrades apply from the next billing cycle and may limit features and usage. We do not refund differences for the current cycle.
6. One-time purchases (Tools Pack and similar)
Some products are sold as one-time purchases, not subscriptions. The flagship example is the Tools Pack, which unlocks our marketing tools suite for the workspace that purchased it.
- One-time purchases are delivered and unlocked immediately after payment is confirmed.
- They are non-refundable once delivered, except (a) for the routinely-allowed reasons in Section 3 (duplicate charge, billing error, unauthorized transaction), (b) where required by law, or (c) at our goodwill discretion.
- One-time purchases attach to the workspace that bought them and are non-transferable.
7. Non-refundable items
Unless required by law, the following are not refundable:
- Fees for the current billing period after renewal;
- One-time setup, add-on, or product fees (including the Tools Pack) once delivered;
- Taxes (including VAT) and payment-processing fees retained by financial institutions or payment processors;
- Promotional discounts, coupons, or credits (no cash value);
- Charges resulting from failure to cancel before renewal.
Note: our pricing model does not include usage-based overages — paid plans are flat-fee with defined feature and usage limits, and exceeding a limit results in throttling or upgrade prompts rather than overage charges. Accordingly, we do not issue "overage" refunds because we do not bill overages.
8. Service credits vs. refunds
In cases of material service issues (e.g., extended downtime), we may provide service credits toward future periods rather than cash refunds. Credits are not transferable, have no cash value, and expire if your subscription ends.
9. How to request a refund
Email alert@angryboss.io from the email associated with your account and include:
- Account email and organization name;
- Invoice or charge ID and date;
- Amount and currency;
- Reason for the request and any supporting details (e.g., screenshots of duplicate charges).
We may request additional information to verify your identity and investigate. Submitting a request does not guarantee a refund.
10. Refund method and timing
Method
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method, via the original payment processor (WayForPay / WesternBid / Hutko, as applicable). We cannot refund to a different card or account.
Timing
Once issued, refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days; actual timing depends on your bank, card issuer, or the payment processor.
Currency
Refunds are processed in the original transaction currency. Exchange rates, bank fees, or currency fluctuations may cause differences in the final amount you receive.
11. Chargebacks
Please contact us first to resolve any issue before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer.
If you initiate a chargeback without first contacting us, we will automatically suspend your account for the duration of the investigation, in line with our payment-processor obligations. Account access is restored on a case-by-case basis after the chargeback is resolved.
Proven fraudulent or abusive chargeback activity may result in permanent account closure and forfeiture of any account credits or one-time-purchase unlocks.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post changes with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you via the Service or email. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy. A running list of material changes is maintained in our public _changelog.md.
